Please read these terms carefully before using Imprint. They explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

What this page really means

We're parents building tools to help you understand your child's unique developmental path. We created Imprint to give you personalized insights and ideas, but we are not doctors, and nothing in our app is medical advice.

Here is the plain-language version of the legal text below:

  • We give you insights, your pediatrician gives you medical advice. If you are ever worried about your child's health or development, talk to your doctor immediately.
  • AI is a tool, not a professional. We use AI to help spot patterns and suggest activities. You know your child best; use your own judgment.
  • Every child is different. What works for one family might not work for yours, and timelines are just averages, not deadlines.
  • Your memories belong to you. You own the observations and voice notes you add to Imprint.

What follows is the full legal policy. But we wanted you to hear it from us first, in plain language.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading the Imprint app, visiting getimprint.app, or using our services, you are agreeing to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use Imprint.

2. Medical & Developmental Disclaimer

Imprint is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Always consult your pediatrician: Always seek the advice of your pediatrician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or your child's development.
  • Do not delay care: Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read, heard, or received through Imprint.
  • Emergencies: If you believe your child may have a medical or developmental emergency, contact your healthcare provider or emergency services immediately.
  • Every child develops differently: The timelines, milestones, and developmental insights provided by Imprint are based on general pediatric guidelines. They may not apply to your child's specific situation.
  • No doctor-patient relationship: Using Imprint does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and Imprint.

3. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Imprint utilizes artificial intelligence to process the memories you share and generate personalized insights, activity suggestions, and educational content.

  • AI limitations: While our content is guided by developmental research and reviewed by our team, AI-generated insights may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or suggestions that do not perfectly align with your child's specific needs.
  • Not a substitute for judgment: AI is a pattern-recognition tool. It does not replace human intuition or professional medical judgment.
  • Verification: You should always review AI-generated recommendations and, when in doubt, verify them with your pediatrician before applying them to your child's routine.

4. User Responsibilities

As a parent or guardian using Imprint, you are solely responsible for how you apply the general guidance and activity suggestions found in the app. You agree that:

  • You will seek professional medical advice for specific child health or developmental concerns.
  • You will evaluate the safety and appropriateness of any suggested activity before trying it with your child.
  • You will not rely solely on Imprint for making critical health, medical, or developmental decisions.

5. Intellectual Property & Your Content

Your Content:

Your child's data is sacred. The voice notes, memories, photos, and text you input into Imprint ("User Content") belong entirely to you. By using the app, you grant us a secure, limited license to process and display this content strictly for the purpose of operating the service and providing you with personalized insights.

Our Content:

The Imprint app, its design, logos, and original educational text ("Imprint Content") are owned by Imprint and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or distribute our app or content without permission.

6. No Warranties

Imprint and all of its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Imprint disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the AI-generated insights or educational content.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Imprint and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the app. We are not liable for any decisions made, actions taken, or injuries incurred based on the content or suggestions provided within the app.

8. Age Requirements

Imprint is designed for use by parents and legal guardians. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All data regarding minors must be submitted by their parent or legal guardian. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and for all activities that occur under your account. Please notify us immediately at privacy@getimprint.app if you suspect any unauthorized access to your Imprint account.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as our app grows and technology evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice within the Imprint app. Continued use of the app after those changes means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
