How to Do This Activity

Why It Works

Contributing to community in visible ways builds a sense of purpose beyond self-interest. Tips for Parents

Choose projects your child can mostly complete independently with your guidance. Explain clearly who benefits and how. Say, "Mrs. Chen will smile when she sees your drawing on her door." Let your child see the impact when possible. A thank-you wave or note makes the purpose real and visible.
